The Worcester Public Library’s One City, One Library Branches will have new hours for the summer of 2016.

At an event at the State House on May 5th, the Eos Foundation proudly recognized eleven Worcester Public Schools along with other partners from 92 schools across 19 Massachusetts districts with $56,000 in grants for their commitment to support universal free, after the bell, breakfast in the classroom (BIC) as a powerful tool to fight childhood hunger, and boost academic achievement in our high-need communities. Over 41,000 students in high need schools benefit from these schools’ breakfast programs each school day.

Worcester Public Schools students published in It’s Lit! were honored on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Durkin Administration Building. It's Lit! is an annual celebration of student writing and all students in preschool through Grade 12 were encouraged to submit original, not previously published creative works such as poems, memoirs, and short stories.

Stand For The Silent At Vernon Hill

On Friday April 29th, Vernon Hill School took part of the “Stand for the Silent" Day. Stand for the Silent is one of the leading and most effective anti-bullying organizations, whose mission is to bring awareness to bullying and the real devastation it causes.

Students learned more about what they can do to prevent bullying and took part in reciting the Stand for the Silent pledge. Afterwards, they signed their pledge cards to show their commitment to this pledge.
